Sun Runner Cruises

Enjoy a ride on our complimentary cocktail cruises on one of our two 49' custom-made cruisers, the Sun Runner and Sun Runner II. Sign up for one of our family or adult only afternoon cruises which depart daily from our Main Beach dock (weather permitting). Each cruise features an open bar serving mixed drinks, beer, wine, margaritas, soda for kids, and light snacks like cheese, crackers, and peanuts. Whether you are a child or an adult, you are sure to enjoy a relaxing cruise around West Lake Okoboji.

Water Skiing

Whether you are a seasoned pro or would just like to learn, you are sure to enjoy our complimentary water skiing. Our experienced staff will take you out on our tournament ski boats complete with all the necessary equipment and instruction needed to enjoy your time on the lake. Sign up daily to enjoy this activity once per day.

Free sailboat rides are given daily from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (weather permitting) on our 28' racing scow.

Docks

We have several beaches and docks that are accessible to all of our guests. The Main Beach Dock is next to the office and is Lake Okoboji's largest dock. There you will enjoy our 20' man-made beach, protected swimming area, swim platform, and our many lounge chairs. All boat rides and water skiing depart from our Main Beach Dock.

There are three docks at our North Beach. The first is lakeside between duplex #152/153 and Cottage #151. The second is lakeside between triplexes #141/241/341 and #142/242/342. Finally, there is a small, private dock at Cottage #150. These docks all have lounge chairs that are perfect for relaxing. The glacier formed shoreline is naturally more rocky at the North Beach.

The South Beach Dock is located approximately two blocks south of the Main Beach and is easily accessible from units #101-117. This area has a natural sand beach south of the dock and lies next door to the newly enhanced beach area of Arnolds Park Amusement Park. Cottage #160 also has it own small, private dock.

Pools

Enjoy our indoor and outdoor heated pools. They are both open daily. The indoor pool is located at our Main Beach next door to the office. The outdoor pool is located across the street from the Main Beach at the center of our Cottage Colony.

Recreation Program

Calling all adults, children, and anyone in between - our recreation program is sure to have an activitiy to entertain you! Make a keepsake from your vacation with us at our daily arts and crafts sessions. Get in shape with our yoga or pilates classes. Meet other guests and our staff at our Get Acquainted Party featuring a live band every Monday night in season. Sample fine wines, champagne, chocolate, or domestic beers at our Wine, Champagne, Chocolate, and Beer Tastings. Or participate in any of our other varied recreation to see who is the quickest swimmer or fastest runner. We offer our recreation program from June 10 to August 19. We also have a recreation program on Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekends. We are sure to have any activity that will please you.

Row Boats, Paddle Boats, and Canoes

All row boats, paddle boats, and canoes are free and are available on a self-serve basis at our Main Beach Dock. Life jackets and paddles are furnished for each person.

Recreation Activities

Our recreation building, including the lobby, recreation area, and terrace room, are open from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. In the recreation area we provide ping-pong, pool, and a variety of arcade games. We also offer a wide selection of board games and movies that you may check out to your unit.

Or, if you prefer the outdoors, we have plenty of other options to suit your needs. We have a sand volleyball court in our Cottage Colony, a basketball hoop, tetherball, and shuffleboard area at our Main Beach, and a tennis court and a second basketball hoop at our South Beach. All equipment for these activities can be checked out at Guest Services in the lobby.

There is also plenty of space for yard games, such as ladder ball or bocce ball, which are available for check out at the front desk. Younger children will also enjoy our two small playgrounds, one by each of our pools.

Sunset Watching

Fillenwarth Beach is located on Sunset Beach on West Lake Okoboji. You are sure to enjoy relaxing on your patio or deck while watching the sun lazily dip behind the horizon.
